Confusion regarding world boundary

Functional portals
As many have noticed, it's still possible to pass by the world boundary using existing nether portals. It is not possible to light new portals that lead to outside the world boundary, but if they were already there they will still work. This is because we were technically unable to remove all existing portals at once. So we've just set it to give us a warning whenever somebody passes through the boundary, and then we have to manually go and deactivate the portals (and bounce you back to where you came from). So, if you have any existing nether portals beyond the 600 boundary in the nether, please deactivate them to save us the trouble.

Moving your base
If you have a base, or items, beyond the world boundary, I will be happy to move them inside the world boundary (even if you're stuck inside the world boundary). This is not compulsory, if you'd rather just leave your base outside the boundary, you're free to do so.

To have anything moved, do a /modreq requesting it (ie. /modreq I'd like to have my base moved inside the boundary ) and when I (or another admin) catches you online, we'll move it for you.

Beds
Same as the portals. Existing beds haven't been destroyed, but you are unable to sleep in new beds. Please save us the trouble of having to respond to a warning on you using beds, by removing your bed yourself.

Perhaps making a section big enough that ender pearls can't reach would do the trick? for example making the boundry 6 blocks deep so it goes from 5000 to 5006? i'm not sure how far ender pearls can go so i just chose a random number, but i hope you get the idea.

right, so we either extend the limit to a farther point, probably 50 or something, or we just ignore this. I mean, is this really an issue? we're treating this as if people are using glitches to their advantage, such as using chunk errors to find bases. Is this really something we need to crack down on?

These rules can be broken down very simply: Don't use clientside mods that aren't approved, and don't abuse any glitches in the game. Not abusing glitches can be very hard, and many people are confused about it, but it means that even when glitches unintentionally happen, you cannot take advantage of them. If there's a worldhole (chunk error) and you see a base in the ground because of that, you are not allowed to go raid it.
Anyway, I'll see what I can do to solve it.

So, if a rail were to be set up connecting the inside with the outside, would trade via minecart be allowed? I have considered such things, but I figured asking first would be best, just in case.

or even simpler, a water stream that flows across the border :) I don't see what the problem would be in doing that.

I think it is possible to throw an ender pearl further than fifty blocks. In order to be completely effective, it should be somewhere safe, along 150-200 blocks. I think if someone lands inside the barrier, it will push them out to the nearest unprotected spot, so if they throw an ender pearl halfway through the barrier, they will still get pushed to the other side.

Well you could pillar up, then you could throw it even further.
