Allow players on the nether roof and disable elytra on it

I think it would be good to allow players on the nether roof, and to counter the issue of this being too OP for travelling, elytra could be disabled on the nether roof. Nether roof is not a bug or a glitch that should be banned, it's not game-breaking. It's definitely a feature, it has stayed on the game since the nether was added. I think that many people would like this change and a poll should be made to know the opinion of SimPvP playerbase on this topic.

The admins have talked about this and it seems we are generally against the part where you would be able to afk travel. Like if you had a horse up there you could prop something on the w button and afk to the worldborder. Do you want it enabled so you can afk travel or so you can build stuff up there? We aren't against people building up there I don't think

I would like to build in the nether roof. You could maybe disable riding entities in the nether roof? I think that it wouldn't be very useful for travelling, since you can also build a flying machine in the overworld and afk to world border.

Yeah you probably could afk with a flying machine. I think that would take way longer though since the speed is slower and you would have to travel 8x as far and you can't go diagonal (or you probably can idk). But yeah because of those reasons traveling on the nether roof would be a lot easier and faster I think. One thing I think clip said was that maybe people could safely go onto the roof if there is a beacon working nearby. Without a beacon, they would slowly get hurt up there. I think we could make a plugin for something like that assuming it doesn't use up too much server resources. We could all also continue to think of similar ideas that gets the result of the beacon suggestion

slightly alternate/simpler implementation of the beacon idea. this forces people to use full size resistance beacons which i like thematically as well. (resisting the roof damage)

danimania havin good ideas. i can 100% get behind the movement for building on the nether roof, of course with the set implications that clipchip proposed. to be honest, the fact the nether roof has been in the game since the nether's creation alone, at least in my opinion, is proof enough it is a vanilla mechanic. maybe not an intended one, but one sure enough. to me this nether roof falls under the same blanket as the tnt duping; it is a mechanic that has not only been in the game for an extremely long time, but also is extremely op and potentially gamebreaking. i think the same way we handled tnt duping, essentially nerfing it, if applied within the implied implications would be a great addition to sims playing experience.
