"root" access is a Linux term for the administrator account.
There is no root access to McMyAdmin. I tried the default username and password, which didn't work and I quit. I don't see the harm in this, and banning someone for it seems extreme.
Everyone keeps assuming I wanted to do something malicious for the sake of a witchhunt. There are two things wrong with this:
- I didn't do it with any malicious intent.
- If I did, I would have used a proxy, not my home IP.
If you were at your friends house and his computer was password protected, is there any harm in trying his dogs name?
That's the exact same as trying the default password for it.

we cant know if u wanted to do something malicious. but we assume u did its nothing wrong in that.

I feel like picking the lock is a bit more forceful than trying passwords. That is more like trying to stick your finger in the lock and make it open.

I think you're missing the point. I didn't sit there guessing passwords over and over again.
Since you like car analogies - it would be like me trying to use my Acura key to open your Acura
just to see if it would fit.
That literally is what trying a default password is.

but u did try it with the intent to get access even if u did not do a good try.
its not like trying your key in a other car, its like using a universal key that works on not so smart car owners cars:P
bottom line is that u had no business trying the passwords in the first place. it shows us that u would abuse flaws in a security system and we don't need that kind of people here.

Next time you mistype your bank password I hope they IP ban you.
Also, this isn't fair to integrii and SeniorJub, who also play from my IP address.

No, I was just making a point about how unreasonable it is to automatically assume the worse and disregard everything I've said even though logs show it's true.

So if they submit ban appeals too, what will you do?
It is their IP address too....
