I've actually read the bible, believe it or not. There's a certain amount of legitimacy to it and a lot of the stories are actually well written IMO and do teach some life lessons. Some stories don't really make sense too much either. [e.g, Lot losing all his wealth and family, falling into a sickness yet he still praises god: "The lord giveth and the lord taketh". I think the story ended with him just dying or something?] I think people over-interpret the bible a lot of the time.. here's a good example.
