They get it pretty early, maybe 8 years old. Teaches them how to handle money. If they want more, then can -- and do -- work for it. Not "work" for me, I mean real paid work outside the house.

They are expected to help with whatever cleaning/chores are required whenever I ask with no bitching. They are 100% responsible for their rooms and their own laundry.

I also spend a lot of time with my kids homeschooling, helping them figure out life and generally being supportive of their interests.

I didn't had allowances either...

I don't really get an 'allowance'. Usually if I need or want something, I am allowed to get it. That said though, If I'm doing poorly in school I won't get anything I want. Sometimes I do a 50/50 split when buying things with my parents. For things like going to the movies with friends or hanging out I get money.

i got allowence when i was 16 before that my parent got the snacks and stuff. if i wanted anything i was forced to beegXD but it forced me to start working at around 13 ( helping people with garden work and stuff ) im glad i did, i learned what money costsXD
