I had the most fun and most interaction in the big pvp world.

What might be helpful then is for someone to explain to me and other newer people why we decided to change it to a smaller one? Were there drawbacks I'm not aware of? Cause it seems like a pretty great idea to me now, but then again I wasn't there.

Nope, all you had to do was make a storeroom at bedrock and finish moving within a few days, then move it out. Unless there was an Xrayer, your total time in the PvP world would be around 15 minutes both sides, and you have zero material left behind.

Also, PvP world shouldn't just be for people who think the overworld is just 2 hard. You're making it sound like people who are sick of trying to live in the shitty overworld need a second AND a third world to try in. Why are we so hugbox all of the sudden?
it would seem that the idea of a bigger and better maintained alt world is too hugbox for players who like a more hardcore experience in the game. But I personally believe that any alt world at all makes basemoving rather hugbox, and should thus forth just be accepted as a new factor of the server which probably isnt goin to change.

And as far as the concern of letting the place get too soft on noobs, it never really was since anyone who had to use /world for survival, was usualy stuck in /world and therefore left to the devices of the players with a higher level of craft-competence

All that being said I think an alt world modeled after the old 1000X1000 saved location version would be more agreeable to ALL styles of play rather than just combat
and also does not have many arguable negative impacts on 150x150 gameplay aspects either

I PvPed way more in the bigger one. There I would try to kill people at their bases, get attacked when looting a base, attack someone looting a base or have random chases. In the water /world it was more like getting sniped or insta killed by his potion or if not that get killed by an invisible dude.

There is no thrill or suspense to a 150x150 PVP specific alt world it's just not useful for anything except duels which can be way too easily interrupted.
Quote kenny: "I PvPed way more in the bigger one. There I would try to kill people at their bases, get attacked when looting a base, attack someone looting a base or have random chases."

Me too, when it wasn't rediculously impossible to attempt any sort of acvitity in the alt world people were more encouraged to stick around.

The current alt world is just another wrecked version of spawn if you ask me, although it has it's uses everyone I know had way more fun at the old one.

(even lonesoldier I might add, who has been resistant to this idea, was quite the frequenter of the 1000x1000 for some time if I recall)

I wasn't going to pass up free diamond armor when all I needed was invisibility, poison, and a bow.

I remember there was a debate about that old pvp 1000x1000 world being too big. I actually wanted to switch to a smaller one like the majority of us, but now that I think of it, that old one was way better and more fun.

Brent, remember that huge stash we had there that someone found and raided? Lol, terrible loss.

I think this might be a case of wanting what you don't have.

Back in the day, people complained that the pvp world was too big and that you could never find anybody. And there was a lot of pvp especially in the water world.

A big world might be more appropriate with /pvplist though. And I would like to remind of my suggestion of having a protected area in the large pvp world.

I guess it comes down to what everyone wants it to be really, a PVP specific world or a world with intentions of being used to introduce more players into the sever, allow a greater range of interactions, etc etc I mean like Im fairly certain that when it was first introduced it was just called /world, not a 'pvp' world

I wasnt playing for the waterworld so I dont have the best knowledge of recent server history but it is undeniable that the old PVP world format was quite popular. Perhaps a test of a 750x750 (so minus 500blocks squared) might turn out better?

When the server was busy I remember finding players all over so I dont know what thats all about, (now even on busy times I dont find anyone in /world)

Also the pvplist command is a bit odd and pointless, if you ask me it just makes no one want to be the first one in.

As for the protected area I like the sound of that but I dont think players should be forced to spawn there each time they /world (except the first time of course or if they die without a /world bed or something) because that just makes it rediculous if you want to build a fortress to defend or something that you would have to journey there each time

I think having people spawn in the center of the /world would allow them to fight and stuff without making it too hard to get back to their base. The largest I want to make it is 1k blocks in each direction, meaning the absolute literal maximum you'd have to travel is 2k if you built way in the corner.

If that's still not good enough, what about the idea we were talking about of having 2 /worlds, and one being a protected arena just for fights? We could have a kill count each week that resets every Friday and/or each time you die. We could rotate the arena every few months too, like we do with the spawn building. It would give people interested in PvP and people interested in building a reason to log on regularly.
