Yes, I've read that. There was no clarification on if a real admin could actually do anything about that. Could they be banned, depending on what they are trying to do by claiming they are an op?

pretending to be op is not a banneble offence, but if a real op tells u to stop doing it u stop

a real admin won't tell you to do anything, aside from a stop breaking the rules warning. Any thing else would be a suggestion. Like "please relog" If the admin really really needs this there is no need to ask, just /kick.
I'd like to say though that i think it should be bannable if people are using the purple server color to actually look like the proper [Server]

NoCheat can be set to kick people who try to use coloured chat. If it isn't, I think it should be.

yes it should, we've discussed this issue before but i don't think action has been taken yet. It hasn't been a problem yet either as far as i know

i think it have been disabled in the client.. i cant do it anymore. dont know if its blocked serverside tho.. have not seen color in the chat in ages so not a big problem

I think hacked clients still make it possible, not sure though.
