Not a single diamond, I just meant a cost in diamonds. It was a pretty ambiguous sentence, sorry about that.

I think we actually agree on every point up for discussion here. We can have a flamewar if you feel like it though.

I must say, I'm quite surprised at how this has turned. My worry when introducing this was that people would see it as making the server too difficult and dangerous, and yet now the argument is whether it's making the server too easy.

It depends on if you're serious about removing /world or not, really.

It doesn't really affect me, since there will be zero portals built anywhere near the Castle.

So if diamonds are paid relative to the distance the portal transports you, will they work like nether portals? That is, will the player simply build one and then pay a certain amount of diamonds to activate the portal and upon stepping through a second portal will be created as the 'exit' ?
