I don't know how you can get to 1.7.3 if you update to 1.8 so its advised to wait for the server to update as well before doing so.

unless of course you want to play sp 1.8 then go ahead.

just force update on the launcher and it will reset you to 1.7.3

eh???? 1.8 is now the current release. forcing update will just make you install 1.8 again.

I'm not talking about the prerelease here. 1.8 is official out

I just played 1.8 for a while. After some mining I found a abandoned mine. They are pretty challenging to wield through. There were 10 or so mob spawners. Most spawn poison spiders, but there were some normal ones too. Poison spiders are a pain in the ass. It's not hard to destroy a few of the spawners, but I eventually overextended myself and died when I tried to destroy a few right after eachother. It's important to wait until your health bar is full again before you engage a next one. I guess if you just play very conservative and heal up after each poison hit they are not that hard to deal with.

There are some chests in the mine. In the chests is not too much special stuff, but I did find some melon seeds. Armor is definitely not imba, you really need the durability if you want to clear a large mine. I used one set of iron armor in the mine. I had just equipped a new set before my death.
