I decided to do an overhead map of the old 1.7 world, took my little laptop all day.

Got a nice 113MB .png out, none of the programs I have here could open it, but I'll post the link for you all anyways.

is there some way you could sever the outside? Like cut of everything beyond 10K from the save file? Then put up smaller versions of maps and world files. My computer can't hold the whole 1.7 world. I'd like to get a download of the central part of that world though. I mostly lived around 3-4K at that time. Making my last base around 8K. But i'd really like to get a download of the old pvp castle.

I'm planning on doing a night version of it as well, to see where people have built (above ground at least), I'll probably post a tarball of a bunch of images, including one that's only the immediate area around spawn.

Thank god, there was once a minecraft without oceans.

Also an interesting note on it. Nobody made it 20k away from spawn.
