I want to build an under ground farm, not too big, and im worried that xrays will find it. Am i right to think so or do xrays only locate chests?

I tried it out in my singleplayer world and I found out you can actually choose what blocks xray sees and doesn't see. Assuming you're far out enough you'll be fine.

They can locate your farm though depends on their settings

X-ray hacks can decisevly pick out any blocks they wish to see. They always set all the Man-Made blocks to be seen, (Crafting tables, furnaces, cobble stone (usually), crops, anvils, ect), but they also set things like hazards to be seen as well. Lava, for instance, is almost always turned on to prevent lava death. Covering the top of your farm in a beliavble pocket of solid lava should protect it from top-down veiw, but from a skewed angle it might still be visible.

Do obby underneath the lava so they can't just break through into the farm, otherwise they'll fall into water and be safe...

Or, build it far from spawn aboveground. If you build it aboveground you can make it a lot bigger, meaning more l00tz
