Here we go again. Hopefully a lot of the 1.8 bugs are fixed in 1.9, and this isn't just more bugs added on top. The CraftBukkit guys must be pissed, or at least discouraged. Oh well, crafting goes on.

Sidenote: At least we have Bukkit for 1.8: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/craftb ... ble.37832/

Please note: for those of you who are considering generating a new world for Minecraft 1.8, please remember that you will likely have to do the same for Minecraft 1.9.
Ugh.

I think it's funny the final release is called Update 1.0
You'd think it'd be 2.0

It sortof makes sense if you look at it this way: it's the first version of non-beta.

All my projects (public or private) have gone from 0.01 to 0.xx in alpha and beta, and then 1.0 is "Gold" -- that is, ready to be used, with a minimum of bugs and all features working as advertised.

Notch and co. seem to favor agile development, where they just kick out "build of the week" and try to fix more bugs than they introduce.

But they still ought to have a better versioning system. :P

I've tried it out. What's with this 2 part adventure update wasn't there supposed to be an adventure mode?

Adventure mode is what we are currently playing. And there is also creative mode, in which you can fly and cannot die, and have unlimited blocks.
