Well of course I'll go there, since it's shorter than civilian service.

Conscription only works if your country believes heavily for it's cause. Otherwise, you get the Veitnam War where thousands of men were drafted, not knowing what they were fighting for. This lead to decreased morale and much more fucking off inside a squad, and people often were too coked up or scared to fight. And even more often then that, Medics would use their morphine so people could shoot themselves in the foot and get a free ticket home.

The Army is usually not considered fun unless you want grueling Physical Training excescise (PT), and getting shot at for a country you don't fully support. It's a life for a paycheck and the government has other things to spend money on then a better wage for infantrymen.

Hand grenades are useless beyond 50 meters and RPGS are useless on hardened targets, or soft targets that are spread out unless you have High Explosive warheads. But they you had better hope there's no hardened targets.


tl;dr conscription and drafts do not make a country's military inherently strong, you idiot.

Oh, no I was referring to you not even reaching the age to be conscripted, but even if you were, you'd probably pussy out into civilian service anyway.

Unless you live in Africa, you probably need to be 18 to be enrolled in the military.
