New Clan (I guess)

I am thinking about starting back at spawn with a couple of people.
Formerly known as MrDisingenuous, Severate, Vistil. I am Friends with Brntrogdor, Pippinger and Wolfbitten.
Hopefully someone with know-how in red-stone.
If not, I am still ok with anyone.
I thought about naming it something stupid like
The Sacred 9, paying homage to the 9 blocks the crafting table utilizes.
Side note: I hate these forums and now realize they are the only way to communicate.
Opine me if your interested.

Both my accounts are tied up, but we could probably spare some resources from Ascaris or Aggersel if you guys need it, like if you need some extra stone or wood. I think there needs to be more cool stuff built near spawn in general, even if most of it ends up griefed. If I buy an alt or remember the password to an old unused account I'd probably want to actually join the team for a bit, but until then I can't.

This seems like a good idea but wouldn't spawnrats just grief the shit out of you once your location is revealed?

I remember the last time someone tried to start a spawnrat clan
they ended up killed with nothing to show for it
the reason nobody builds at spawn is precisely because building there is dangerous, loitering there is dangerous, and it all crumbles in a few days without extreme supervision anyways.
redstone is by no means difficult unless you're building needlessly complicated systems.

If you build underground a couple thousand from spawn, you can go years without being found.

And besides, I think there is something to be said for leaving cool ruins. It's kinda fun to look at chat and see that noobs are discovering my pyramid or living in one of my castles.

I feel like a spawn clan would be a greater effort than its worth. However I feel there is a way it could work. I don't have patience to learn redstone. I am however trying to construct a gamemode called "Nightmare". Every player starts out in a mansion and they trip wires which spawn zombies and skeletons. Its taking some comprehension but its slowly coming together. I want to nail down the intro from A7x Nightmare song with note-blocks.

if you don't have the patience to learn the simplest visualization of input/output and gates how do you expect to make anything better than a doorbell with noteblocks
