I'm kinda curious as what the "protection" enchantment does to your armor as it seems to not really do anything. I have this nifty little Minecraft app on my ipod called "Mincraft pro" by imba entertainment which said it converts environmental damage to armor damage, which doesn't make any sense. Could someone give me an example of this hapenning, or just downright explain it or something? I'm confused.

I think it redirects damage to your armor instead of your health. What kind of damage i don't know... probably most except poison and such.

Yeah, probably zombies, endermen, and swords from PVP.
