Ok so for those of you that don't know, the new compensation policy for x-rayed items is: Spawn in their inventory and any chests found. Do you think the policy should change? I think some other people are also a little perturbed with the current policy. Yuk, this is no offense to you, I just think it could be better.

Yeah, i liked the old policy better, the new one is a matter of luck if you get all your stuff back or if you get less or if you get it all back plus more, i was lucky enough to get most of it back plus alot more, youngs for example was not.

Don't get xrayed. I say yukar has no resposibility to compensate you for anything. If some one breaks the law and then is promptly killed it is not on the law enforcer to pay for that criminals offences. Returning recovered property is acceptable but personaly you should lose what ever you can't protect.

How can you protect something from xray less than 5k from spawn rev? Either this new compensation policy goes or the limit goes..... Or both.

True and not true. In real life things cost and cannot be created with a command. In minecraft, the items can be spawned, so the "law enforcer" loses nothing.
It's like comparing piracy to stealing - those two things aren't really the same.

There are two reasons we don't spawn anything in.
1.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inflation
2. Abuse of the spawning policy (has happened)
If we go by the logic of
the items can be spawned, so the "law enforcer" loses nothing. Then why not just spawn a stack of diamond blocks for every person who joins the server?

Then maybe an insurance policy for houses for 1 dia a week where a stock is taken of the house contents weekly and if it is xrayed the items are known to the admin

1) Inflation does not occur, because the xrayer gets banned (he does, right?)
2) If you don't refund the goods looted by the x-rayer, he wins. His only goal was to grief - to make someone grind their teeth. That has nothing to do with spawning random stuff to random players. We're discussing giving the players things they lost because some douche cheated.
But - I still don't understand, what's the current policy again? Because if I correctly understand this:
Spawn in their inventory and any chests found.
the current policy is fine, because you get back all the stuff you had in the chests, right? Or do you get just empty chests? :P

Well I only got maximum 1 third of my stuff, which is really bad. He probably died or something, losing all my stuff in lava. Another hacker wins
