It would probably not be too hard to change the vanish plugin to allow their name to stay on the list. I think the bigger issue (besides the inevitable leaks) is that people like to contact admins for help or to provide information, and that'd be impossible with a secret admin.

I think mostly everything's been said already, and I agree with nearly all of it. One point I'd consider though is what you call Neutrality, which I agree is irrelevant / unachievable. Over years of spectating people on the server, I have at a few points accidentally revealed minor details that I shouldn't have in public chat. That is not admin abuse, but a normal amount of human error. At no point did I intentionally leak anything while I was admin. Nobody's perfect.
