Re: Potentially Restoring Illegally Griefed Bases
We wouldn't use backups, we'd use logblock to revert. I'd still like people to think more about grey areas or edge cases. What if somebody gets banned for x-ray but didn't cheat (or it can't be proven they cheated) to find that base? What to do about items being duplicated from restoring the base? I...

Re: Capture the Sign December 2020
If nobody has suggestions for the exact rules I'll make something up.
As I've said before, the next CTS round will start on April 23.

Re: 2021 Map Art Competition
Can you submit map art that is already built or does it have to be made specifically for this competition?

Re: Potentially Restoring Illegally Griefed Bases
What I foresee as the main problem with this is people complaining about the admins being unfair in restoring or not restoring a base. You need to figure out a way to make the policy as unambiguous as possible. Not just a concept of the rule, but the exact text if you had to put the policy on a wiki...

Re: TPS is consistently terrible: Ideas to fix it?
Can anybody actually show that fabric will be better for lag? I'm still not convinced that it's better than paper. I tried to find benchmarks comparing them, but couldn't find any.
I know people keep throwing the 40% number around, but I have no idea what it's based on or how accurate it is.

Re: TPS is consistently terrible: Ideas to fix it?
Thanks for opening this thread. One brief thing I'd like to mention is I recommend people using /mspt instead of /tps for measuring server load, as mspt scales linearly with load. If mspt is at 50, then tps will be 20. If mspt is 100 (twice the server load) then tps will be 10. This is also why tps ...

Regarding bots
Hi, the server rules regarding botting have been unclear and have changed over time, so here are some clear rules. Chat-only bots are allowed. Other bots are only allowed if you do not profit/benefit more than insignificantly from using them. Bots cannot use commands that modify the server, like /re...

Re: SimPvP and its Future (manifesto) [long rant]
I'll briefly address point 1. I didn't know the wolf thing was exploitable again until Dakka told me, on January 13th? Why didn't I ask Dakka about it? Because I didn't think it was exploitable. Lack of transparency: I've always had the belief that vague rules makes it harder to cheat the admins. Do...
