The person has since returned the book. And btw, it wasn't troll Revstoningpot who took it.

Who was the thief? Or is this matter so serious that he is afraid of having his name disclosed in fear of his life?

Come on, not like they'd want us to know. This ought to be the crime of the century. Admitting to this would be like Bruce Wayne being all, "Hey guys, I'm the Batman," or Clark Kent being all, "I'm a bird. I'm a plane. I'm Superman," or Tony Stark being all, "I'm Iron Man."

Every one knows who iron man is. It's not a secret identity, he's always showing off that he's iron man.

you failed on your comedy 3's. Don't blame me for your inability structure a joke. The first two being sarcastic comparison to deeply held super hero secrets but the third, which should be the most exaggerated sarcasm, is actually a fair comparison to the issue at hand. Therefore it is not "the joke" it is that which takes away the started joke and makes it just a regular statement. With a build up of 3 you need to continue what you start and cap out the funny. some thing more like

...a revelation like that would be like an ancient copy of the new testement that ends "to be continued in the book of mormon" or a science note book of darwin that says "oops i was wrong, creationism is right after all" or a diary of hitler that says "i don't see why we have to kill the jews, but when churhill gives an order you listen"
