Most servers are run by 12 year olds with god complexes and I've been banned before for telling an admin his house was ugly. Nothing surprises me anymore..

Same with a lot of games I play, nothing pisses me off more than seeing admins flaunt their power around. It's only funny when I mock the admin for being poor and watch him go on a ban spree like he's the secret police. But the admins here are not like that, and especially not the person who banned you. Try not to let the usual bullshit cloud your judgement.

That certainly looks like an x-ray to me. Hey gnat, if it isn't much of a trouble, would you mind showing the evidence for the majority of the cases? That way we plebeians and the accused will know under what grounds the guy was banned.

It's usually not a problem. The reason I'm not doing is that lb shows co-ords, and I'm not sure if publishing them is OK. I'll look into it and see if I can get it not to show coords.

ah, that's a good point. I honestly thought we didn't give two shits since the place the guy was at was underground in them middle of nowhere. Besides, where that guy was was in an area you wouldn't want to build.

First, I was not using xray and I ask-- this time more politely-- for the permajail to be reversed.

Second, apologize for the assumptions I made regarding your likely motivation for the ban. You are obviously taking my appeal seriously, and I appreciate that. Mostly I see admins who are more interested in their own egomaniacal control over their pet server. You are obviously not behaving like a child nor does it seem you are being petty or vindictive now that you've stated your position. I'm particularly impressed that you have taken personal responsibility for the ban which I find to be very refreshing. I think most admins would hedge their bets and claim it was someone else who did the ban-- especially where the evidence is so shaky.

Third, however, this supposed "evidence" is far from proof of any kind-- as I knew it would be because I wasn't using any hacks. You call that video "proof beyond a reasonable doubt" that cheats were used? Some of those diamonds were plainly visible from the hallway I was in. Why they were left unmined is a mystery. I thought it was odd at the time. I figured maybe someone had their "moodiness" turned on and didn't see the block, turned around and placed a torch, and then walked away. Anyway, they were there for the taking. After that I got lucky on a dig and figured I should get the heck out of there and make some armor out of my diamonds.

Also, the video appears to have been condensed somehow as it does not appear to show other digging I believe I was doing at that time, though we're talking over 48 hours ago in the wee hours of the morning so quite frankly my memory is hazy.

Anyway... I suppose you are always going to ban some innocent people when you are trying to guard against difficult to detect hacks such as xray. It's just extremely frustrating when that person turns out to be yourself.

I wasn't hacking. I wasn't x-raying. I request the jail sentence to be commuted to "time served."

Thank you for formally charging me, presenting me with the alleged "evidence" of the crime, for the opportunity to speak in my defense, and for your consideration. At least you guys have some due process around here and thats a lot more than I can say of any other server I've ever been on. Bravo in that regard.

This conclusion was drawn from the fact that it is HIGHLY unlikely to find diamonds in such a rapid succession - without any form of branch mining. You basically dug a maze that happened to intersect a few diamond veins - this is statistically equivalent to winning a lottery.

That being said, this video doesn't prove your guilt. But comparing it to legit ones makes yours seem incredibly unlikely to be a product of mere luck.

Sorry Dionysus, but the evidence, while not proving you did what you are accused of, does suggest that that may be the case. If it happened once, we wouldn't press it. If it happened twice, we might put you on a watchlist, but coincidences happen. But what we see here is quite clear, either you knew where these diamonds were, or you might die by lightning while finding a penny from 1944 heads up whilst winning the lottery and meeting the ghost of Billy Mays. "I got lucky" starts to become a poor defense when you get something that's simply too much in terms of statistically probable.

Thank you. I'm impressed you admit that. I'm innocent and, apparently, a victim of circumstance. Perhaps it looks like it might have been hacking. I assure you I did not use xray. That is all I can say in my defense, as I am unable to prove my innocence....just as you are, apparently, unable to prove my guilt.

People do win the lottery. Sometimes I go for literally an hour or two without finding any diamonds. Other times I stumble on two patches of 8 near eachother.

I ask that the ban be lifted. Obviously you are going to keep me under a magnifying glass if that happens. Given the subjectivity of your "anti-hack" justice, I think its best if I simply avoid mining diamond, or doing too much mining at one time. In the future I'll mine until I hit one patch of diamond, then take a break and do something else. I like the server in general, and there is far more to be gained from mob grinders, potions, and enchantments than from mining diamond.

If I could be teleported back to the place where I was jailed from, and my 20 netherwart and 1 blaze rod restored to me, I would be very grateful. I looked long and hard trying to find naturally growing netherwart and nearly died twice fighting blazes just to get 1 rod. Now even if I'm released from jail I imagine I'll likely have to start over on this server from scratch. Unless my bed-spawn is restored after being released from jail. If not that's quite a punishment in and of itself, especially given my innocence.

That being said, you have a very unique server here-- there truly is nothing else like it anywhere. The only other similar server I'm aware of is 2b2t.net (now 2b2t.org because the owner lost the domain name) which is riddled with hackers and has no admins at all.

Anyway, your consideration and honesty is appreciated and incredibly rare in the minecraft community in general. If you cant deal with statistical anomalies, I understand that. You have a hard job to do.

At least I have my explanation. Thanks for your time. I await your final decision.
