What happened?

Let me introduce myself. I am blackbabby, a former regular of this server. The last time i played was the summer of 2011. Back then, there were dozens upon dozens of players, with fun combat and crazy constructions. I stopped playing once my friend, lalaland2, was banned. He was banned fairly, he xrayed, but this is away from the subject. I am curious as to what happened to the server. I've checked the players every few months and found on average 10 players. What happened?

Don't forget that mcserverlist fucked up, and incorrectly reported this server (among a couple hundred others) as offline for several weeks, thereby permanently ruining our previously high rating, and making it more or less impossible for us to get back to the frontpage again.
