A few stats

I'm doing a backup now, so I thought it interesting to publish a few stats on the server.

Firstly, the overworld is currently 84GB uncompressed (that is the form that minecraft reads it in, luckily my backups take up less space)
and the nether is currently 12GB.
The end is at 19MB.
According to my calculations, people have generated 2,994,361,344 (nearly 3 billion!) square meters of map.
Since the map reset (September 15, 2011) 62827 unique players have connected to the server.
We've banned 4118 players.
The furthest anybody has traveled from spawn legit (no teleports) is 300k ±25k.
We have 1.4GB of log files.

If anybody can think of any other statistics you might be interested in, please do tell.

I can tell you this when I've made a map of the overworld. Can't think of any way to find out real fast.

I suppose I could write a script to go through the logs, and add the difference between player logins and disconnects together, but it won't be today.

Back when we were on the frontpage of mcserverlist the server was almost always full.

Apparently we've only banned 4118 players, I seem to recall it being 6000 or so, well anyway. + we have about 30 people jailed.

Yes, I would love to know this. I did play pretty heavily the first year when the server was popular, but minecraft has lost my interest lately. My guess of people that would be up there would be
