Best hosting company ever IMO ( and why VPS are doomed )

If there is a huge and awesome hosting compagny in Europe ( and more specificially in France ), then it's OVH.
Their non-professionals offers, kimsufi, wich were just refreshed in 2013, are just making concurence's life a misery :

For 3€ a month : ( yes, 3 euros ), they don't give you a crappy VPS, but a *real* dedicated server with not-so-shitty-for-that-price hardware :
- Intel Atom @ 1.6Ghz ( 2 cores + ht )
- 2gigs of ram
- 500Gb of HD
- 100Mb/s, with no quota limit ! ( You can use 15tb a month if you like ! )

You host whatever you want on that ( easily at 20-30 slots MC server, I did it at a time )

I have no idea on how it can be profitable, but appartently it is. And yes, it's real dedicated servers, NOT vps. The VPS and concurence are sooo doomed.

For me, the interesting offer is the KS-16 ( I have KS-R8G 2012 right now, i'll swich asap ( paying 30€ a month for an i3/8gigs ) )
For 20€ a month :
- Intel i5 2500 @ 3.1Ghz ( or more if you are lucky, they've got i7 left in stock wich are not used in others servers ! )
- 16Gb of DDR3 ram ( *really* convinient for MC/DayZ hosting ! )
- 2x1Tb of storage ( in raid 0/1 )
- 100Mb/s, unlimited too.

Of course, for that price you've limited features and support, but ... c'mon the PRICES !
So, anyone paying for a VPS more than 3euros a month is getting robbed now B)

ram: 1GB
disk: 5GB
transfer: 5GB

the best thing with this provider is that u can upgrade without reset or downtime from a webinterface or direcly from the vps thro program or script. so if my mem runs of it auto upgrade.

The only problem is that Kimsufi 2013 are only avaible in europe ... for now.

That sure is interesting, I really wonder how they can make that profitable. I might look into it sometime later.

They have partnerships with intel, probably to get rid of old atoms stocks, they recycle old hard drives, and they mututalized server's alimentations.

Anyway, if you plan to get one, wait a few months : they got thousands of orders, they are not able to handle them at all, delays are crazy : some people waited for two weeks.
Add that to the fact that they had to refuse all paypals commands due to ressellers abuse ( OVH decided that only 3 server/person is enought, but ressellers made multi-accounts and abused of it ), that they lack staff, that their communication has always being their bottleneck and you've got a pretty bad cocktail.
This should get sorted out in like a month, but until then, wait, they are running out of stock.

This is so huge that this evens affects their pro offers : I ordered a mSP ( xeon/32gb/200Mbps ) to handle a huge amount of players comming to my server soon* and they are out of 1Gbps switches. So we have to wait till 9 and I need it configured and running for the 10. Luckily it seems they can deliver it with 100Mbps switches until they replace them by asking them on twitter.

*Yes, XolioZ is getting featured on Minecraft.fr, the first french Minecraft website, with thousands of visitors per day. I'm kinda fucking proud.
