They get it pretty early, maybe 8 years old. Teaches them how to handle money. If they want more, then can -- and do -- work for it. They are expected to help with whatever cleaning/chores are required whenever I ask with no bitching. They are 100% responsible for their rooms and their own laundry.
I also spend a lot of time with my kids homeschooling, helping them figure out life and generally being supportive of their interests.
