Spam attack!

Today at my time 8:40 (VAncouver time) There was a spam attack. Over 50 diferent accoutns logged on repetitively saying "Ok don't welcome -Foley I will" and then when the server reached maximum capacity they all left the server. >_> What the hell was this? Ip ban is the only possible way to solve it I'd say, might not even be possible. Usually when this happens you have to shut down the server until they get bored. I'd say 10-30 minutes.

Well, was it really so bad a server shutdown was necessary? Doesn't seem like a major attack at all. Still I've banned everyone who's said it. Each person was from a separate IP, so doing an IP block wouldn't really achieve anything.
