Get more vanilla!

Post by RevStoningpot »

I'd like to see the server become more vanilla. I have nothing against anti cheat and admin tools I just want to see it more vanilla on the player side. Removing the bed plugin is all i can think of now but perhaps Yukar couls post a list of mods we could chat about here.

Well any plugin that makes the server too non-vanilla should be noticeable ingame, without me listing plugins on the server.

As for the beds I think there's a pretty clear consensus that it should stay the way it is, but if you can gain more support for it I would consider it.

well mostly i just don't like this beating around the bush thing with "well... it's pseudo-vanilla" It would be nice to be able to just say "yes, it is vanilla"

Ahem, the jittery laggy sun and moon is because of a plugin that keeps the time going, if it's removed we'll get greatly extended days and nights when the server lags. Increased length of day/night cycle isn't really that vanilla.

ahhhh now that you mention it i do remember being on servers that seem to take forever to change time. At that time i was under the impression that they were moding the time. But it seems the jumps go backwards therefore extending the time. I mean i know it's still 10 minutes. it just seems that the sun/moon goes forward at normal speed and takes jittery jumps backwards. So without it wouldn't the days be shorter?

No, what happens is that when the server lags, the timer is slowed (it's lagging so it can't count as fast as it should), this means the time will jump backwards and sag. What this plugin does is keep time going even though minecraft is overloaded (because minecraft being overloaded doesn't mean the server is overloaded, thank you mojang), so then whenever the time jumps backwards this plugin pushes it back forwards again, making sure the time is normal length at all times.

Now that, I can agree wholeheartedly with. It's not out of beta until they stop adding shit.
