What are some of your favorite songs?

Post by Bloop the poop »

I can't decide on one so I'll post a few in no particular order:

-The Funeral by Band of Horses
-Hello, Goodbye by the Beatles
-Sail by AWOLNATION
-Mad world by Gary Jules
-Try and love again by The Eagles
-Shine on you crazy diamond by Pink Floyd
-A day in the life by The Beatles

I think it would be cool if we could maybe discuss the songs we post up and also recommend eachother songs that we might enjoy based on the above.

In terms of video game music I'd say my favourite are '''health'' from max payne 3 and a lot of the fallout music. That shits awesome.

Here's a tip: quit listening to shit music.
There is nothing redeemable about those songs whatsoever. I recommend getting outside of the shitty pop genre that everyone listens to. I'm no hipster by any stretch, but at least try to listen to things you can't hear on every radio station everywhere.

These songs are indie electronic/indie rock:
Underdog by Imagine Dragons
Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons

This song is electronic:
Hey Brother by Avicii

These songs are indie rock:
Ho Hey by The Lumineers
Slow it Down by The Lumineers

This song is rock:
Anagram by Young the Giant

This song is indie rock but you can barely tell they are speaking english:
Tesselate by Alt-J

These songs aren't pop.

Please consider listening to the music in the video games section of my post if you want music that you might prefer as i notice that many of you enjoy that kind of music.

I like 1980's stuff, like the genre from the soundtrack of Drive. There's a modern band called Lazerhawk that does music in that style and I really like it.

I also like modern piano soloists. Too many instruments are kinda distracting IMO. There's this guy who goes by Yiruma who's really good. I'm not into actual classical Beethoven stuff or anything though.

Anything by Daft Punk is usually great. I love Random Access Memories.

I like videogame soundtracks. Final Fantasy X and Sword and Sworcery stand out.

I don't really consider myself to have great taste in music. This is just what I listen to.
