I'm with Lone on this one, that makes us more like a pay 2 play server, and those are the shittiest.

I think we should avoid these vote2play ideas as it most likely will drive more players out than gain more. Yukar is right, the server does get its ups and downs. Actually few weeks ago, the server was getting a few decent number of players(including spammers and hackers) at around 12-2am UTC, Ultra_badass was a witness. Summer vacation is coming up and im sure this server will be packed as it used to be and im also expecting new regulars players, we just need to be patient for the time being.

What's summer vacation? :P

I'll start playing regularly again once I hear that Mojang has abandoned the "name change" idiocy. Or maybe someone can write a plugin that allows server admins to tie someone's unique ID to a name, permanently.

Until and unless that happens, I have no interest in interacting with people who may or may not be who they appear to be, who aren't sure if I am who I appear to be. Name change may not affect servers that much, apart from breaking plugins, but it is a nuclear bomb to Minecraft communities such as simpvp.

Summer break has a lot more shut-in 10 year old angsty kids then you would think.

Except this won't do anything but drive people out.

I don't see what the problem with voting to get in /world is? Anyone can still play on the server and no one has an advantage over people who didn't vote. I'm sure most people don't vote simply because they forget or don't know where they can; this is just a better reminder than something like a message that spams the chat.

Constantly reminding people that they have to do something to access a server feature means that they'll just give up on the server.

Trust me, people are naturally lazy.

Agreed, a few people might be diligent about it, but overall it's just going to get people disgruntled and they'll stop bothering.

Of course, that's how server voting works. Point still stands.
