It's not the generation of new chunks that's taxing on the client (that's server-side work), but "blocks per chunk" that the client has to deal with. That's why low-end machines typically get worse fps in mountain biomes and great fps in flatworld. Amplified will most certainly be unplayable to anyone with less than a beastly gaming machine.
