It's intended more to be posted on walls than directly handed out to people, though obviously people can do whatever they want with it. I really doubt anyone will ostracize you if they see you put this on a bulletin board, and if you're really that concerned about what people think of you than you have some insecurity issues.
think of minecraft's current demographic
if you hand out paper directing random people to minecraft that demographic is instantly pasted over the top of you

There's no harm in it really, there's still a sizeable number of people in my college with an interest in MC, but that interest AFAIK is just trying to be le yootoob famos by trying to be cheap yogscast knockoffs. I think it's silly, but it's not like you have anything to lose by doing it.
