Basically he uses a mod that saves the server map as a singleplayer map then just runs a mapping program on the files. Didn't knew it was ok to do so here, as it's a very potential way to xray in peace ( get the map offline, just roam arround in noclip singleplayer ).

But using it for making a map itself isn't against the rules, and we don't (or can't) catch people based on saving the map, so it makes no sense to police it.

Basically you get banned for xraying, whether using an offline map or not, but you won't get banned just for making an offline map.

I use WorldDownloader to save the map, mapcrafter to render it, and another small tool to stitch individual rendered tiles together.

Very nice ae0. Got to see an early version of this, and it looks really cool now.

Also lol@ spawn close-up pic. In the bottom left area there's just a bunch of dirt that says "HELP". Looks very sad and lonely out there.
