was it patched because they didn't like people using item elevators or was it patched inadvertantly

I don't know. All I know is that at least 3 of my big machines will be broken because of it and I'll have to replace them with dispenser towers at least 100 blocks tall. Oh yeah and they randomly decided to change the heights of 7 different mobs by several pixels, which will probably break people's farms. WHY????
