That's weird, when i checked Mojang's service page it said all their servers were operational. I can even access other servers.

I'm sorry this appears to have actually been on this end. Apparently there were some connectivity issues from this server to Mojang's servers, but I've fixed it now.

If you're stuck in lag, disconnect until the lag is gone. If you disconnect (and nobody else is around, which is almost always the case) the chunk will unload so that even if you died, your items won't despawn.

Cool it's been basically 14 months since the last post on here... it's down now though. Getting connection refused when trying to join the main server, but build.simpvp is still accessible.

Yep, apparently an ender dragon is causing an error, so it's been down for about 10 hours now. I'm trying to get it fixed.
