So, I've heard there is a problem with PvP. To combat this I suggest that there be sponsored, I'm looking at you Yukar, mock wars where people fight for large sums of wealth, the definition of which would have to be decided upon by the community. What you do is pick a coordinate anywhere on the map and say, "Dear Community, there is a war zone at x y z, whoever can claim and hold this area for t days gets s stacks of diamonds, steel, or whatever." By the way the y is important it can cause wars in the sky if you'd like, I guess claiming should be done with a sign, and the wars would be expensive, hopefully, so the reward should be as well. I think this could increase PvP, and encourage really strong clan building.
By the by, this would not be an event but more of a ongoing battle. Thoughts?
Mock Clan Wars
Re: Mock Clan Wars
Oh, and to make sure people don't just come in at the last minute, you could have smaller daily/weekly prizes awarded to people with bases in a 100 squared block area, and people who made claims using screenshots.

Re: Mock Clan Wars
Sounds like a good idea! The only thing is that simplicity is more of a vanilla server but we could try blending or mixing it with the other pvp tournament thing that somebody else suggested.
Re: Mock Clan Wars
I'm not seeing how this takes away from the vanilla aspect. If you want to play strict vanilla you don't have to participate.Bloop the poop wrote:Sounds like a good idea! I'd like to revive this suggestion.

Re: Mock Clan Wars
this is prtty good actualy i must have not given it a proper look before. This is definitly a vanilla thing to do. and way more so than tp events. This wouldalso get people off of spawn. Also random travel gives a good chance of stumbling on a base to raid. only problem seems to be the last minute take overs but that could be solved with havingan unset finish time yukar could just pop in and announce a last 5 minute and then go watch for the winner. Posting a sign for aserting your rule sounds good it makes it harder than just offing some one. You could get stabed in the back while typing. What of prizes though that's kind of all on yukar and he's never been a suporter of free stuff. I think records would be good prizes though

Here's how I was thinking it. We pick a designated spot, put an unprotected sign there, and then people have to fight to put their name on the sign (since it's unprotected, anybody can go change it and put their name on it,) then, at a certain time, (I'm thinking 9 PM GMT+1, 4 PM east coast, 1 PM west coast) whoevers name is on the sign gets a nice diamond reward (sponsored by the hackers of simplicity.) That way people will have to fight there to prevent their enemies from changing the sign to their name.

Re: Mock Clan Wars
now as i mentioned before a known deadline will make people pile up at the last minute. People will go there log out and come back when it's about time to finish. If people don't know when it ends they will camp and defend the position hoping the end will be while they are still online. I hope you see what i'm getting at cuz i don't know if i suck at explaining things but no one seems to grasp my logic most of the time
