The lag should only be while the cache for the antixray is generated. When the cache is generating, it forces map updates to be sent out, after it's generated, there should be no effect whatsoever for the player.

If you get a FPS drop, wait 2-3 minutes (for the cache to be generated for the area you're in), then close and restart minecraft. It's sorta like generating new chunks.

Not that it is a bad thing(it's actually good) but it is making most everyone lag unplayably.
