What I love about the new fire charges is that when fired out of a dispenser, they go on until try hit something, for however many chunks are loaded. Problem is, they take blaze powder as well as gunpowder, and frankly, those resources could be better spent most of the time :/

yeah, but I could see someone using a multitude of flamethrowers to burn a jungle down while killing any locals inside. I for one could see the thrill in that. I wish you could change your invincibility on creative, as I'd love to see how deadly these things are.

All they do is set things on fire. Not even any explosions. It's essentially a shot that a blaze would shoot. Flint and steel would be way more efficient at burning down jungles.

True, but if you have an infinite supply of these things, and use my rapid fire cannon design, you can burn through a lot of jungle. if you use flint and tinder, you'd need a lot of manpower.

Have fun getting all that blaze powder, gunpowder, and coal/charcoal.

I'll just stick to creative. That said, two of those three are easy to get if you make a tree farm and a mob trap.

New projectile in 1.2. With blaze powder, gunpowder, and charcoal, you can make the equivalent of a flaming ballista. If you have a lot of them, you can burn down a lot of a jungle with a rapid fire cannon.

In 1.2, a new item was added - a fire charge! Place I believe it is blaze powder on top of coal on top of gunpowder in a crafting table. You get a fire charge, which, when fired from a dispenser, acts like a blaze's fireball, and when normally right clicked on the ground, is used up and acts like a flint and steel.
