Re: Yukar, there's been a mistake! I was NOT the ddoser
how is it a sensitive topic? when we jail players we make great care in ruling out lag and false positives. most that get jailed and then deny are lying....

That is actually exactly what I meant. They deny it and are clearly lying.mitte90 wrote:how is it a sensitive topic? when we jail players we make great care in ruling out lag and false positives. most that get jailed and then deny are lying....
The point I was trying to make was that SolFuji is either under the impression of, or accusing me of lying / misrepresenting what I did. I used those typical jailed players as a contrast to what this entire thread is supposed to be for me.
By sensitive topic, I mean that a few people have had strong opinions despite the lack of a follow up from Yukar, and trying to make this sound much worse than it is based on speculation alone.

Joseph, what you did can be compared to finding soneones credit card and then trying a Few pin codes but upon getting them wrong saying you werent going to take the money anyway. It just Sounds like utter BS.

but yukar have presented what u did no more no less. u tried to log in to the ftp with different type of yukar alts. and u tried to find a hidden function (dynmap) that if it was installed would be banneble in it self to access. u have done a terrible job with this appeal.. insulting people and not even an try to see this throw our eyes...
on this server we have a huge trust in each other(not in pvp) u can play here as long as u play by the rules, u did step over this trust by portscanning it and try to get access to ftp even if it was a quick attempt. thats why people have a strong opinion in this. and thats why players are allowed to see and post in the appeal threads

Following that logic, living on top of the nether should be bannable because people abused a bug in 1.2.3 to access that hidden function.mitte90 wrote:but yukar have presented what u did no more no less. u tried to log in to the ftp with different type of yukar alts. and u tried to find a hidden function (dynmap) that if it was installed would be banneble in it self to access. u have done a terrible job with this appeal.. insulting people and not even an try to see this throw our eyes...

How are people abusing a bug to live up there not breaking your trust?
If you ban everyone that made settlements on top of the nether, I will quit trying to appeal my ban - until then, you should try seeing this through my eyes. Three people lost access to the server at my responsible because of some trivial thing I did days before the fact.

Because Yukar explained that this bug wasn't hacking. Don't make this seem like something it isn't.joseph3114 wrote:Following that logic, living on top of the nether should be bannable because people abused a bug in 1.2.3 to access that hidden function.mitte90 wrote:but yukar have presented what u did no more no less. u tried to log in to the ftp with different type of yukar alts. and u tried to find a hidden function (dynmap) that if it was installed would be banneble in it self to access. u have done a terrible job with this appeal.. insulting people and not even an try to see this throw our eyes...

I say you lie, because the logs are prooving you tried to gain admin access several times. Nothing you said - or could say - can explain how this happened unintended or for the purpose you explained. To downplay it does not work. There haven't been 3 anonymous autorepeated loginattempts, but several attempts to login as an possible admin. I'm not reaching a conclusion from his one post, but from everything you posted, too.joseph3114 wrote:That is actually exactly what I meant. Get an explanation for doing this that fits your explanation without allowing the conclusion that you have tried to get access to the server as admin to do something suspicious and I will personally write yukar a mail, begging to unban you. But this will not happen, because there is no reason in the world why to try to do what you have tried other than illegal things.
Finally talking about false positives: The logs are clear, so the point of ruling out false positives has passed you days ago and you failed.
PS:
- You where banned days after you tried to hack. So what? The fact it was just uncovered because the logs where initially checked on another purpose does not change anything.
- The exaple with flymod and x-ray where to show you that time does not matter, not as a comparable example to the act. (Bytheway, I don't know anyone who is prooven to use x-ray or flymod who has been unjailed or unbanned afterwards. Those who are jailed and not banned serve as determent for others.)
- The nether thing ahs nothing to do with this.
PPS:
Thanks for being a good determent for everyone.

Do you ever see on your Facebook feed when people log in at a friends house and forget to log out?
You see a status like 'lol totally hacked by xx' because people have no concept of the word.
If I opened the Minecraft launcher and typed in SolFuji with the password 'password' or 'password123' should my ip be banned from Minecraft.net for something potentially malicious?
If I had ever intended to sit there guessing passwords over and over or use some sort of brute force tool, I would have used a proxy. There is no way I would have thought people would misinterpret this so easily.
You keep asking the same questions as if you're going to get a different answer.
I really think you should wait for Yukar to respond to. You continue to sensationalize this when it's no different than me trying to log into your minecraft once or twice.
