Can't get onto server!

Worked fine for me.

Does it happen on any other servers? Do you have any special hardware? I have a laptop with nVidia optimus (basically two graphics cards (yes I know one of them is integrated)) and on windows the nVidia software switches between the two, which causes minecraft to crash every once in a while, but on linux where it's set to only run on one of them minecraft never crashes.

Yes I tried all the suggestions. It just quits out of minecraft every time I join into the simpvp server. This has been going on for two days now, and I'm really pissed! I just want to figure this out and get back on the server.

It also has nothing to do with the wifi, because I've tried it on 3 different networks and it's still the same.

You need to run the game from the terminal (you're a Mac user as far as I remember), and when the game crashes it should print java exceptions into the terminal. Paste those here, it should help us figure out where to even begin.

Just make sure you navigate your terminal to the folder where minecraft.jar is. Or just copy it to the home folder if you're not sure how to browse folders in the terminal.

did run it from terminal (in linux) and all i got was "Trace/breakpoint trap". single player seems to work maybe the crash there was unrelated.

Here's a solution that might work. Can the owner delete my player data file? The file is located in the world folder, in the 'players' folder.

I'm not home atm, so can't access the server (school actually blocks nearly everything but port 80 and 443, I shit you not)
But I'll delete your .dat when I get home.
