No, for a variety of reasons.

If they reset the map:
1. Everyone goes back to spawn.
This will cause that stupid arm-to-arm pvp, but this isn't that big of a problem, as people will leave soon after.

2. We lose everything we currently have made
Removes the server's allure as a place for crazy builders way far out and the prospect of hopping on and raiding them.

The biggy:
4. People who've lost everything will possibly quit the server
In my opinion, resetting the map will kill the server's populace. I know you forum-folk are here to stay, no need to argue with me about that, but those randoms that hop on, build something cool, bring a friend, etc. can find a new server that doesn't get rid of their stuff.

I currently don't visit the server regularly as production on my most recent project has stalled and I've been playing on a creative server. I can't imagine wanting to get on the server and walk all the way back, even if it means cool new biomes.

No people have gone way past 100k blocks which means that those chunks are already loaded

^that and most players that has bases 100k and over used the nether to travel to where they are now..so which means there are still chunks that aren't loaded somewhere in between in overworld, If you want new chunks after the 1.7 update then just travel maybe 80k and over. I think the world we currently have right now is simplicitypvp's history itself so i completely disagree with the map reset.

I think that an alternate world for purely biome exploration might be an option. Something similar to the /world that we have now (or perhaps replacing it). Thoughts?

No, No, No, No, and No.

Stop. Just stop. We had this argument back when they released jungle biomes and now everyone sees they're just a pain in the ass.
If you really really want new items and you're too lazy to travel just trade people for them.

I live at 30k and I just have to walk across the swamp and the plains for new chunks.

Guys, why not create a second world? I'm not talking pvp world or anything but just a flat out world #2 with maybe a 30k limit..
