Limit Compromise
Re: Limit Compromise
pianicemo dont even start to call us narrow-minded. ur idea are going to make more play single player on the server. we DONT want single player we want to play as we want. we come with reasons for why we dont want the limit u come with the same thing over and over again and now personal attacks. please try to see that the limit do more harm then good. if it was good it would not make this huge debate. and it would not rip the server in two. i so fucking tired of this and are near quitting this fucking game.. when i joined it was about freedom no rules do what ever u wanted type of server. now its about control.

Re: Limit Compromise
I need to stop staying up late reading these things. Alright, I'll be nice. It's just I feel this server is home, though you probably do more then I do because you've been here so long. Just realize I was trying to bring out some discrepancies that Youngs had when defending his position. Yeah, I probably could have been more mature about it, but I wanted to make the point quickly. And please, I made two compromises (granted, one is for the "remove limit, replace with "blank"" side, and the other is an alternative.) Last I heard, and yukar, you may want to check on this, is that the two worlds thing is possible, but the main issue isn't monetary or server side, and rather with admin support. So the "two worlds" is still a plausible option, albeit with problems. I'm curious of what you think of the stargate idea. That's been getting a bit of flak, but I think it's a good idea to consider.

Re: Limit Compromise
pianiseemo why write that long ass state ment and never once mention the purpose of this topic. And the award for ongest off topic goes to..... The envelope please...... Pianiseemo! We are here to talk about using cts as a funding sorce for a limit passing toll. Also your plan just means seperating people. Doesn't that go against your only reason for having a limit?

Re: Limit Compromise
To be honest, this compromise was piani's idea.FoSchnizzle wrote:Pianiseemo, I called you an asshole because you weren't making many suggestions, just shooting them down. You were saying shit and using the same reasoning every time. Give a decent argument for once, I don't fear one. And don't even start with the narrow minded bullshit. I'm not even going to go there. In case you haven't noticed I said quite a few times that I DON'T CARE WHAT IS CHOSEN I just want it to be agreed upon and not a flawed idea. Who's been the ones brainstorming new ideas? Not you, until this point.

Re: Limit Compromise
Alright, I have a new modification that would make me like this idea (albeit reluctantly).
First of all, the CTS would not be the only way of getting the tokens. However, the other events would be much harder to win, as only the "top guy" could win the token (and it would be optional. They can choose something else rather then the token). I think some fun event ideas would be an ungodly hard maze, and the first to win could win a token. Another would be a hunger games-esque hunger games. Realize we'll follow the rules of the book more. So games could last many minecraft days. I'll talk about it more on fo's event thread. The biggest issue is that having tokens be material would make them a bit easier to get without being a pvpper. Also, realize the limit will still be up, so pvp will still be high. If you choose the token, your name will be put on a list. also, if you were outside of the limit prior to the voting we had 3 months ago, you have the token automatically. The other big issue is how you'd be able to get over the limit. How would we be able to pass through the limit without it being permeable?

Re: Limit Compromise
Staying outside the limit isn't as simple as you say it is. Outside the limit we have no beds, if we die we are forced back into the limit. We cannot build freely this way, which is a reason why people want the limit removed. It's like playing on hardcore mode. Also, we have zero access to the nether, which greatly limits the game to those of us who are outside.pianiseemo wrote:Before the limit was implemented, every single player had the option of going outside of the limit or inside the limit. When the limit was implemented, if you were outside the limit, you were not forced back in. You had only the OPTION of going in, and your base would be copied in, it was an OPTION, but a few people decided to stay out.
So every single guy on the forum who was here before the limit was implemented , you had the choice of going inside the limit or staying outside. Fact. If you hate the limit so much, why didn't you stay outside?

Re: Limit Compromise
Hmmmm, this topic has quite a lot of comments, if I repeat what others have already said, its because I haven't read all of the posts, so please forgive me. Honestly I think that installing a "token" system is a good idea. It allows those who want to go outside the limit a way to go outside, while at the same time increasing pvp. Great.
However, I think an issue we need to address is those already outside the limit. In some ways, we have brushed them off, forgotten how unfair it is for them to play the game. Just because they live outside the limit, doesn't mean they should be forced to play more timidly than the rest of us. I think beds should once again work out there. As well as nether portals. If we make some type of boundary in the nether, would that fix the problem? I'm not sure, however it seems unfair that they cannot play the same as us.
Anyway, back on topic, as long as these tokens are available in all the events we do, not just the pvp ones, I think its fair, and everyone has a chance to gain tokens to the outside. By other events I mean the hunger games, the spleef events, the mazes, and so on.

Re: Limit Compromise
If spleef gave better rewards, I would be rich. I owned at spleef whenever my computer decided to give me more than 3 fps.
