1. Tp to 2 extremely far out points in the roof.
2. Mark region.
3. //set bedrock
4. Lag
5. Problem solved.

Not so hard.

Voting yes because i haven't managed to get up there without dying and I resent those who have it's clearly a glitch - just because Minecraft is a sandbox game doesn't mean "penetrating the solid unbreakable impenetrable border around the map" is an intentional feature.
