I don't think you realize how huge 5k is. Many servers our size have 2k map boundaries and there's tons of trees and ores...
There will be about 1 billion blocks for everyone to mine... That's crazy huge.

that's not 1 billion blocks worth of ore. That said, we won't have supply issues until months, which we'd probably do resets for.
We won't have supply issues for years. It took 4 and a half months to eliminate all trees within a 1k border on the old server. That was just trees, there were still loads of ores in the ground even just 200 blocks from spawn. Then you have to remember that the area of the map increases exponentially, I honestly think this server would shut down before we reach the time when this map (assuming this map is never reset) runs out of materials.

just did some math to see how much diamond is in a 10k area. (5k each direction) I ended up with about 1.2 million. So the argument "supplies are an issue" is null and void.
Calling the suggestion retarded and stating that my real reason for supporting this is that I want the server to die, such an intelligent and accurate argument.

And that's exactly what you're trying to do to it with your retarded map limit
I did the math, Xestia is in the right when it comes to supplies. The big issue is actually access to said supplies, rather then the amount itself. If you had a well-trained group of hunters, half the map could be in distress.
So, as it seems, we cant get a solid decision. I have a proposal that i feel may have already been suggested but ignored. What if we were to worldedit a bedrock wall at 5k in each direction to form a square, not a circle, from 0 to 128. This way, nobody has to move, anybody who joins new has to stay in the 5k region, whoever wants to live out of the 5k region will have a few days to get out there and set a bed if they want, and if they die without a bed out there then they must stay in the 5k region. i suggested this ingame during a conversation about the worldborder proposal and they seemed to love it. Also, this way we need no new plugins. but we will need to do this on a day wherein there is no one on or very few people ready for major lag.

That's intriguing, but I don't think that'd be possible without some solutions. What if someone wants to leave the 5k limit? Would there be set "gates" to allow people to go from one side to the other? Other then that, it seems like an interesting idea, and possibly a mediated solution that both sides can agree with.
