You should probably have a better description on what has happened. Was the chest like, underground? Did you just tunnel down, or something? Because "completely by luck" ignores a lot of variables.

No, I mean, where was it specifically? Pics would also help, though it's hard to take them after the event. Where was it, how was it positioned, what kind of obstruction was between you and the chest, things like that. if you don't present a good argument, you won't have a good chance of getting pardoned.
