Just an issue regarding the spawn.

Okay, so when I came on, I realized that I had logged out while in spawn. Not so bad. But I then realized that the new spawn was mostly a fall into lava. Pretty bad. I have all of my stuff on me, and I only got out by using /world. Now, i didn't fall in due to my own clumsiness or anything of the sort, but of a change made. Is there anything that can be done about this, or should I just find some roundabout way of exchanging all of my items in the pvp world?
