I found an image of this taken near the galactic center on google sky. The borg are out there, you will be assimilated, resistance is futile

I'm pretty sure it's fake. I don't see how galaxies would form an opening in the shape of a perfect square.

it's just a bad spot obviously, google sky is full of errors i just thought this was a really cool one that looked like a big black borg cube floating by

Perhaps its a supermassive black hole that bends the laws of physics, making gravity act in a perfect square instead of a sphere, therefore making the appearnce of a lack of galaxies in a square.

there are no galaxies in that picture. That's the central bulge of the milky way every dot there is a star. if you were to zoom in and look along the edge of the square you can find some stars that got cut in half where they're bright on the normal side and a dim blue on the other. But one could argue that that area was censored because it showed something they don't want you to see.

maybe a military satellite or something... google earth have them, blurry bits where military bases are
