I know, but you don't need MANY powered rails to get to full speed. Three to start and one every 36 blocks. So 35 blocks inbetween will be normal rails :0)

An update on this since the old world is now gone.

I was able to build my track to take me over 1000 tiles. I got a LOT of tracks from raiding other bases. I didn't know tracks would be so popular in this kind of server.

I haven't gotten a chance to fully explore yet, but I did come across one and it seems like minecart tracks will be a LITTLE easier to obtain with the new update.

Currently I'm running about 25,000 blocks out. :0)
