1.7 and maps

My island maps are blank now that the server is 1.7. They don't refill in when i pull them out either they just stay blank. I haven't tried to make a new map. Does any one know what the issue is with maps? Do i just need to start anew?

My maps did that on the 1.6 update, but were fine on 1.7.
