Lag

Post by Mattias480 »

Why is it so laggy at spawn and around it? This gives a impression of a laggy server, which it isnt, if u travel away from spawn. I think many new ppl leave because of that.

What kind of lag are you getting? If it's only aroukd spawn it's most likely clientside. In that case you need a better computer.

I get lag when moving and looking around me. It doesnt get better, when im waiting chunks to load. When im away from spawn lets say 500 blocks, i have no lag. Only at spawn.

I don't have lag at spawn I think 2000 mb ram that is free will make the game go pretty smoothly. You could just buy more ram and add it to your computer, if it supports it.

Spawn tends to be a place where I get lower fps as well.

The more uneven the terrain is the harder your computer has to work. There's really nothing to do, even resets/cleanups are only temporary solutions. The only real solution is to just upgrade your computer.

Unfortunately, minecraft isn't the best code either. So upgrading your PC for a nearing-dead blockgame probably isn't a viable solution.

This is mostly due to all the floating junk around spawn, and how the shitty minecraft code handles it. Minecraft chunks are vertical, bedrock to height limit, so that means the more blocks in the chunk are loaded, the laggier it gets. That's why mountains and "Amplified" terrain tend to be laggier. There are two ways this would be fixed: 1. Clear all the extraneous floating junk, or 2: Mojang actually does something right and switches to a cubic chunks system, which will probably happen the same day Barack Obama will come to my house and eat my dick.
