Just a little thread to keep track of my progress on the city. Feedback and ideas are always appreciated.

So here is what i started out with:

This is what stuff looks like around here at the time i created this thread. I will keep adding more buildings, roads and farms and post updates.

NOTE: I'm not currently recruiting.

Very amazing. As someone who's built spherical shapes by hand, I know how much extra effort and pre-planning it takes (especially if you make a mistake, or a single block is misaligned). An ellipse-type thing is even better. Nice job.

I used a website that gave me instructions on how every layer had to be built in order to get a 100 blocks tall and 40 blocks wide ellipse. It still took a lot of time and materials to set up, and i lost countless glass blocks because i misplaced them. Not to mention all the times i fell to my death...

Reminds me of Box of Emo's constructions and the crews.

Hard to build.
Harder to maintain.
A pain to clear out.

I notice that you also put a picture of this in the general "show off your creations" thread. Is your plan to post occasional photos there, and more in depth stuff in your own thread?

Me and Cinnabars are posting pics of our city in less than 2 weeks, and we're trying to decide where/how to post. We'd decided to just post in the general creations thread, with links to more elaborate imgur pages or something showing the details. But if you are doing it this way, maybe we will too.

I posted that picture in the creations thread before i had the idea to just make my own thread. Right now, i think i will keep it all in here.
By the way, there are way more pictures on my imgur page in the folder "Nos Astra" (http://dakkadok.imgur.com/).


Also, here is a little update on how the Normandy SR2 is coming. Just added a couple stacks of white wool, nothing too dramatic.

You mentioned on the server that you needed an endstone for the storage labels. I found some, so just talk to me next time you see me ingame and I can give you a block. No reason to waste a trip to the end if you haven't left already.
