Strange hacker

Post by Mr_Hole_Digger1 »

So today I came on, shortly after a ton of players joined and filled up nearly all the slots on the server.
I soon figured out it was some kind of hacker and whenever he typed a message it made them all say the same message, making it hard to figure out which player it is that is doing this.

Pip and YoungDroo were on at the time and they lagged out but strangely, I didn't. The hacker said he was trying to hack the whole player database on this server, whatever that means. Also said he was hacking my IP then left soon after.

He also said he has hacked Yuks account. Of course, I took this with a grain of salt but it still seems serious that he is able to fill all the spots on the server. Also, the only names I recognized were Herald909 and U_E, wasn't herald the guy that dug that big trench around spawn? Double check for me yuk, might be some other guy.

Heres some pictures:

had this happen a really long time ago (about a year ago or so before I got to eden and was based with FrostByteMC)

some guy had a bot net and filled the server (which had 50 slots at the time) then started spamming. He claimed "the log.txt is over 500 GB now" or something and that he was aiming to crash the server by flooding the log.txt or something

of course there were measures in place to prevent this and most of the accounts he spammed on were banned
It's nothing more than someone who has a bunch of minecraft accounts (probably non legit) and has them hooked up to a server.
Scaretactics and nothing more

Lone is right. If anything it boosts our server listings because so many people are online.

Well, I'm glad it's not so serious then. Neat, all those fake accounts boost our server listings? Man, you should get that hack and do that once a week or so, lol. Did you find out which guy it was that was doing this?

like I said there is no central account.
the person controlling the bot net doesn't have to be logged in on his account to see what's happening, and if he is he's probably logged in on one of his hundred throwaway accounts that he hacked from someone.

if you did track the person who is doing it, it would likely be by IP or MAC address if he's logging them all in from the same computer. Or he could have multiple remote connected computers on different networks that just complicates the process.

the easiest solution is to ignore it and have someone ban all the accounts associated with the botnet.

Hmm I get it now. Do you suppose if he was a smarter hacker he could actually do some damage?
Or is being a pest all he can do with it?

Also wouldn't he have to be one of those characters on the map? Or is is he in some kind of spectator view?

He would have to see through one of the accounts, but that doesn't mean it has to be his personal account.
